La Clef actually didn’t come out before, apparently set to be bundled with Dragon Age Pure volume 8

OK, this one’s a somewhat interesting story – KOTOKO was supposed to have recorded an ‘image song’ for manga series Ikoku Meiro no Kurowāze (異国迷路のクロワーゼ), and said song was to be included on a CD along with volume 5 of Dragon Age Pure, the manga anthology in which Ikoku Meiro no Kurowāze is serialized in. However, complications apparently arose, making it so that copies of volume 5 all shipped completely free of bonus CDs. As a sort of apology, Dragon Age posted the song’s lyrics on their website, and it was unknown until just recently what was going on with the single and when (if ever) we’d get a chance to hear it.

Well, that’s apparently been answered, as a post on Japanese blog aggregator Firstron says the song will be released along with Dragon Age Pure volume 8, which is to come out in Japan on December 20th. The post (apparently copy-pasted from an e-mail message) seems most likely reliable, but as of yet the official Dragon Age blog has yet to mention it so be ready if this announcement turns out to be another false alarm.

  1. LOL @ KOTOKO singing French lyrics. Call me girl, I’ll give you some lessons.

  2. Now now, some Japanese singers are actually surprisingly decent singing in French – Kahimi Karie’s “LE ROI SOLEIL” comes to mind first and foremost, but I’ve also heard some above-average France Gall covers by Japanese singers. Not that I’m implying KOTOKO would necessarily be capable of faking her way through an entire song in French the way Karie or others can, but there would certainly be precedence if she could.

  3. Kahimi Karie fanboying going on here.

  4. Guilty as charged. But is it my fault that Karie happens to be the best example of a Japanese singer doing songs in French out there?
