I’ve Talk Jam Volume 3 up

Hosts are MELL and C.G Mix, special guest, *sigh*… Maiko Iuchi, whose hair, for the record, is about as third as short as Mr. Mix’s… actually, I think I have longer hair than her at the moment, though let’s judge her by her works and not by her hair, shall we?
Rambling aside, my, ahem, sources seem to be preoccupied with arrangers and artists nowhere nearly as talented as C.G Mix, so Restoration is still unavailable, and The Front Line Covers is available only at Nicovideo while it lasts. On that note: MELL, please, either take some pronunciation lessons or get Harry Yoshida to sing the English for you, because girl, Disintegration just sucked compared to Lia’s version.

  1. “though let’s judge her by her works and not by her hair, shall we?”

Actually, in the case of Maiko Iuchi I’d have to say she comes out better when judged by her hair than she would when judged by her works. *Rimshot*

  2. 愛撫, ladies and gentlemen.

  3. Thank you, thank you, I’ll be in town ’til Thursday.

  4. Hmm… maybe if Maiko had Rapuntzel hair, she would have (a little) talent. I bet she inspires on her hair and since she’s got none, her stuff sucks… Or maybe fans (not hers (haha as if she had) obviously) attacked her (out of rage) and that’s the sad story of her (hair+musical) disaster.

  5. @NimberXIII- I’m actually a fan of her works! So she does actually have some. I also must add that everyone can say she has no talent, but I don’t really see any of you composing anything. Now’s the time to stop being so damn immature, shall we?

  6. Also, I get the feeling that a lot of people are really down on Maiko because Aibu is.

  7. Maiko’s songs aren’t bad…they’re just a little weird here and there. I’ve just got used to ‘masterpiece’ and the song is great, but the music when there’s no singing parts remind me of a cheesy rock song.

  8. Maiko had good songs to… remember ‘seduce’ ??

    and i don’t her short hair too anyway ^^;;

  9. i believe Maiko is in IVE for a good reason, she probably doesn’t have the same aproach at music that the guys do but that doesn’t mean she isn’t talented. For me Under Superstition is one of IVE’s best in 2008 so i for one don’t label her as a mess of a producer/ composer.

  10. This is my impression of Aibu:

*on edge of cliff, shaking fist in air* MAIKOOOO!!!

    …Yeah.

  11. “I also must add that everyone can say she has no talent, but I don’t really see any of you composing anything.”

“X doesn’t suck because you can’t do what X does” is the worst argument in the history of arguments and the day it dies will be the happiest day in all of history.

“Also, I get the feeling that a lot of people are really down on Maiko because Aibu is.”

I’m flattered by the idea that I’m some sort of big influencer, but I’d have to say that it’s more likely that people dislike her because her compositions are generally sloppy and unprofessional when contrasted with the other I’ve arrangers’, because she doesn’t fit with the general “I’ve sound” and that she has one of the worst track records of all of the I’ve producers. Also, let it be noted that most of the people in the thread are saying she’s not all that bad.

  12. haha aibu acutally you’re a huge influence without knowing it xD
Actually everyone has a point here, so I don’t know what to say. I just hope masterpiece won’t be a mess.

  13. Everyone has their talents, I’d say but I don’t let other people intertwined with my “wants”.

I admit Aibu is indeed influential (in other ways) but if you can see in my earlier posts here in this blog, we contradict on some songs sometimes (e.g. like KILL, almost all of the people here like it but it took me awhile before I could appreciate it even “On my own”, and if we’re speaking of Maiko Iuchi compositions, I remember Aibu saying “I hate Egen!!” but for me, “I like Egen!!”).

I, myself, is a fan of Maiko as well but even if I like her, I’d say her works are really great but not all (I’m not being biased with anyone — if I like it, then I really like it) but actually that flaw makes me want to like her — no reason in particular.

  14. @SAME – “I’m actually a fan of her works! So she does actually have some. I also must add that everyone can say she has no talent, but I don’t really see any of you composing anything. Now’s the time to stop being so damn immature, shall we? Also, I get the feeling that a lot of people are really down on Maiko because Aibu is.”

Hey! I can think on my own! ):< I might have (BARELY) exaggerated by saying she had no talent, but I think I don’t just speak for myself by saying her works are SO BORING. She just does not fit in I’ve. I like I’ve, but not the almost-generic-corny-drama stuff she composes. I just dont like her work (and I’m not the only one who doesn’t). She should compose stuff for Ayumi Hamasaki or some of those idols.

Now, I know I may not be composing anything…. because I am NOT a composer, I’m a writer and though music is not my talent, I think I can share my opinion on it.

BTW, just because you disagree with me does not give you the right to call me immature nor it makes you mature. YOU grow up! And I said up, NOT OLD; age means nothing if you dont GROW UP. Jeez, I cant avoid thinking either you are 10 or 50 years old… But who cares anyway.

  15. Sorry for the double post but I wanted to greet all the active readers/posters here a HAPPY NEW YEAR! Although it’s 20 minutes after (here in the Philippines) but I hope all of us are happy like this smiley =D

    Once again, let us be happy and keep the posting or infos and friendly arguments coming! ^_^;

  16. Yeah, Happy New Year!!!!!! (And it’s morning here in Mexico xD). May you all find bliss and wisdom!!!

  17. That’s right!

  18. i’m from mexico too, and right now is 11:49 am XD but anyways happy new year everybody may 2009 bring you great things.

  19. happy new year lol ^^

    it’s 9.48 AM here in indonesia ^^

    well just to be fair… even Kazuya Takase and Tomoyuki Nakazawa isn’t always composing great song… remember ‘U make Ai dream’ ?? lol… ^^;;

@Pedro: and i keep listening to MIHI’s ‘F**K ME’ over and over again xD xD
what’s wrong with me lol xD xD

  20. Happy New Year everyone!

@NimberXIII-I was referring to the hair thing. That was immature.

  21. It was just some sarcastic comment, regarding what I think. It’s not exactly polite to criticize someone’s comments just because you don’t agree. I know it’s not THE best commente ever, but it was not immmature just because you say so. Hell, just beat it! I don’t care if you don’t like how I comment. Who do you think you are to judge if my comments were mature or not?! Mind your own comments and leave everyone else alone.

Plus, YOUR comments are the immature ones and I’m not the only one who thinks that.

    Happy new year btw.

  22. “I was referring to the hair thing. That was immature.”

THAT was what this was all about? I was making fun of myself with that comment. Besides, I actually like her short hair ._.

Also, NumberXIII… uhh… simmer down or something?

  23. Sorry, it’s just he is driving me crazy… I will.

  24. oioioi… the front line covers is already available at torrent…
i’ve put my on short review in my blog though -_-a

  25. Excuse me kuroiyuki88, but I wanted to tell you that I´m using your banner from your blog in several forums.

I hope it doesn’t bother you, thank you ^^.

  26. Is it me or does MELL’s English seem to have taken a turn for the worse in Disintegration? I know it’s not the best in the first place, but it just seems a tad bit off.

  27. @pedro: as long as u put a credit for me then it’s fine :D

@SAME: probably… i don’t know why but her English in Red fraction was much better -_-a

  28. @Kuroiyuki-It seems like her English gets better, then worse, then better, then worse. It’s really weird. Most of the time it doesn’t bother, but right now, something just bothers me about it. On a good, note, Mami’s English seems to be improving a lot.

  29. “It seems like her English gets better, then worse, then better, then worse. It’s really weird. Most of the time it doesn’t bother, but right now, something just bothers me about it.”

haha, MELL’s inconsistent English… maybe she really should take an english lesson =.=

“Mami’s English seems to be improving a lot.”

well her english was not bad anyway, as you can hear in ‘the maze’, but it’s true that she improves her english.

  30. I didn’t really like MELL’s Disintegration… I like DROWNING better (even if it sounds rather weird than the original). I like almost all of the song especially RIDE and Dream to new world.

  31. http://www.mediafire.com/?0jugknnlju2

although in low quality (since I ripped it in nicovideo) Restoration ~Chinmoku no Sora~ full ver. is available. It’s good but it’s too generic already — it sounds like Face of Fact. =.=’

  32. Hey, a little late but sure:

Happy new year to every one!!
And, guess what? IKU where in the budokan, pretty good :)

    long life to the collective!!

  33. @Kuroiyuki-Actually MELL said she’s took English in school at the A-KON panel, if I remember correctly. She said even with that she’s still no good. lol

  34. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe most Japanese schools emphasize written English much more than spoken English, so even though she probably took a bit, she (nor most other Japanese) can’t pronounce it properly.

  35. @hikaruhoshi: it’s actually not only Japanese but actually in Indonesian it’s also like that. Our English lesson was more to written language rather than spoken languange. so if we want to learn spoken language we have to practice it ourself.

  36. ^I second that. Here in Mexico they teach written English, but to actually speak it, one must listen to it, and most people are too lazy for that. In my case, videogames helped me gain a better English level xD
